Great Opportunity To Showcase Celiac

I belong to another website for the parent magazine "Today's Parent". The journalists often post on the forum when they are researching for articles that they are writing, asking parents on the forum for their stories, input etc. to go into the article. I myself was quoted in an article back in August 2006 for a story about how to keep kids learning through the summer months....

Here is a perfect opportunity to get celiac out there in a magazine article! Any of you who have children 6 - 8 yrs old who have dealt with being tired due to celiac, please respond to this writer! It would be a perfect way to get the word out to parents to get their kids checked for celiac!

Hello, I am researching a story for Today's Parent magazine.

If your 6-8 year old seems tired all the time, I'd like to hear from you. Some kids this age are always tied. It seems that they have little energy and soon feel exhaused.

My question is: have you looked into your child's tiredness? If so, what's the cause? It could be allergies, or lack of exercise, combined with a less-than-desirable diet, or even too little sleep.

Have you learned any strategies to help your child overcome their tiredness?

Please respond to me directly at:

ellenrosenberg77@rogers.com

Please include your city/town, as well as your child's name and age, on the occasion that we publish your quote.

Thank you! Ellen

This particular request is in the "Kids's Health and Safety" forum.....

Thanks!

Karen

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?

Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
