I get these too. All accounts plus a test point to my being Gluten Intolerant. I don't die from eating wheat products, but I suffer consequences.

I also never used to get these prior going Gluten Free, I suppose one might speculate that something we once got from such things as wheat, we may not longer get. Thus; problems. Possible.

A short internet search turns up a few sites that describe this kind of problem, and, as it happens, it doesn't seem to be a worrisome condition to be in. Though I am sure a thorough search will possibly bring back some information stating that this condition is a sure sign that 2012 is really going to be the end of the world. The internet is a nebulous thing.

Thus, I wouldn't worry about it too much, but if it persists, head to a doctor, possibly a mouth specialist.

Thus far I have found that this kind of thing can be chalked up to a mouth trauma of some kind. Blood vessels burst without bursting the skin, thus fill the skin with blood. It clears by itself typically. This, is as far as my research found. Sometimes they hurt, sometimes they don't. Mine don't.

Mine haven't come in a long time, but I now have one. I also notice they tend to come right after eating, so some sort of allergic reaction wouldn't be surprising, though, I eat a bunch of really benign foods ... (Habits of Candida diets! HA!)

I get them on the insides of my cheek and always thought they were from somehow biting it while chewing? :blink:

Today I have woken up with a lovely mouth blood blister (1/4") that has appeared over night. I have never had one of these so has just made me wonder if its another one of those hundereds of symptoms of celiac disease. Any ideas anyone?

I get them quit often, but I am pretty sure mine is from biting my cheek, I'll wake up with them too.

I get these all the time. They are painful, more so when they pop. The underlying sore takes a long time to heal. I'm new to this gluten-free program so I don't know what causes them. I never asked a Dr. either.

I just got an emailed response from my GI, "IBS doesn't cause mouth sores or blisters. Go see your PCP when you have another one." LOL. I guess I'm on my own with this.

      Sounds like you are in the UK. With blood numbers that high, I thought docs in UK would give an official diagnosis without the biopsy. You should ask about that, so you can get support faster.  I'd try to find and print out anything that supports that in your country, get another appointment and take all of it with you. Even in the US now, some docs are doing this, my 19 year old step granddaughter got an official diagnosis here in US with just blood results a few months ago.

      Is soy sauce in Korea also made from wheat like it usually is in US? I'd be concerned that even if asking about gluten, they would not be aware of or think of some like that.

      That's a good idea. It can at least establish the potential for developing celiac disease and can help people decided between a celiac diagnosis and NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity). And it doesn't require a gluten challenge and can be had without a doctor's prescription.

      Anyone had endoscopy with a cold/cough???

      I have my endoscopy on Thursday, has anyone had the procedure done with a cough? I don't have a continuous cough, but every now and then throughout the day I have sort of coughing episodes. They are a lot better than they were but I called endoscopy and they said to speak to my gp and my gp got back to me and said I need to ask endoscopy if its ok if I have it done still.  Help!

      Thank you so much, everyone. For the moment my doctor just has me taking iron but hopefully we can reconnect soon. I'm going to look into genetic testing, too. Great advice all around and I appreciate it--and you can bet I'm going off the PPIs!
