Weight Gain Suggestions?

Been to the gastro. with my Mom again today. Mom has lost quite a bit of weight, but every test has been just fine as far as blood work, biopsy, colonoscopy etc. She has had them all.

We need to get Mom to eating five meals a day.

She is currently having issues with fats, and roughage and not eating hardly anything because she is fearful. She does make excellent gluten-free bread even at her age. That should hold some benefit as far as carbs go.

We really need some good suggestions on diet. She admitted to the doctor she needs more protein, and the doctor said more lunchmeats and things but then you run into additives and all of that.

I have a Mom who is about to blow away in the wind, afraid to eat, and not functioning well. I also think depression weighs into this.

Can anyone offer some good ideas for gaining weight?

Oh, and the doctor also suggested Mom probably has some IBS issues, and definite lactose intolerance also maybe reflux. :(

I need to help Mom stuff her kitchen full of good things to eat.

Herbalife! This is a product that is soymilk based. It would be somthing that would be added to her diet on top of a meal to help her gain wieght. You can make these into fruit smothies or drink them as they are. I would try things like chicken breasts for protien....it can be made in so many ways and if it is fresh shouldn't have additives in it. If you message me I can get you the details.

Enlarged lymph nodes in neck and groin with celiac are not uncommon. They can take time to reduce even after going gluten-free. Monitoring is key.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
