I use Waterworks. They contain no ammonia or peroxide, either. They are easier on your hair. I get my dye at Sally's Beauty Supply. These are henna dyes, however. You cannot use those if you use a straightening iron, because it will make your hair fall out. So could using a dye with gluten, though if you have DH.
Sincerely,

Dear ravenwoodglass,
My hair was its natural color when I dyed it with the henna. You also could lose your hair if you switch dyes. I think no matter what, people should do a patch test. My mom and grandmother were both hair dressers. There are things you need to be careful about!

Unless they have changed recently no. You may want to go to their website and Email the question in case maybe they have one or two that are. Most of their products are not safe though, at least last time I checked.

Dear Patti,
Thanks for the info on this. I use a different dye, but in case I ever need to switch, I will know what to use! There is so much that is difficult for us. It is bad enough we have to fear everything we breathe or eat or drink, but what we wear as well! Any information that makes this simpler is good!
Sincerely,

Glad that the information was helpful, Jin.
I've been using the Feria with no problems at all.

Dear Patti,
As far as I know, my dye is safe. I like it because it does not burn your nostrils out, either! I cannot stand those chemicals they put in some of them! It feels like your lungs inhaled fire! The Waterworks smells like watercolor paint. That is bearable!
Sincerely,
Jin

Dear Paula,
I am not sure if they have any highlight kits. They might. We get a select number of products here. It is difficult to say. I am going to pick up my dye soon. I will look and see if they have any.
