Enterolab Results Are In: Ncgs

Hi Everyone!

I'm having a great response to my gluten-free diet and of course my Enterolab results concur. I put the results in my signature.

I hadn't expected the casein intolerance, so as of today I'm casein-free as well. I don't feel 100% well yet, but I feel much better than before I started this journey. Maybe I'll improve faster without the casein? We shall see.

Thank you to everyone who posts in the pre-diagnosis part of this site... I read all the questions and answers with great interest these past few weeks. I'm convinced that I've made a healthy positive decision for me, even if I ignored the traditional route for celiac diagnosis.

I've decided to tell "regular" people that I have celiac instead of NCGS. NCGS is too much of a mouthful to say and celiac itself is hard enough to explain... so far everyone in my life has been very supportive. I hope it stays that way.

Onward and upward!

-Shannon

I'm glad you got some answers and that the diet has helped.

I'll be curious to see if casein free helps with other things that haven't cleared up. :)

It's also nice that you've got support.

And you never know in the years to come if they will say that DQ3 gene is also an indicator of celiac because right now they only recognise DQ2 and 8. I do the same thing, tell others my son is celiac. You know the diet is the same either way. Best wishes, it's great to be supported.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
    • mishyj
Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
