Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate

This ingredient is in the Giovanni Organic Body Wash. I just started using thier lotion & it is great! But I a saw this in the Body Wash when I went to go buy it today & I thought I had better ask.

I'm almost certain that Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate is not gluten related. I was worried about the word glutamate too when we were trying to figure out what was safe when my fiancee was first diagnosed. I had no idea and was worried since glutamate sounds so similar, like it could be derived from gluten or something! My (smarter than me :wub: ) fiancee was pretty confident that glutamate was entirely different that gluten. I think she said glutamate is an amino acid whereas gluten is a glycoprotein.

So I'm quite confident that Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate is a non-issue gluten-wise but don't take my word as the gospel; I am still learning too.

Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate does not contain gluten. Cocoyl means it is derived from coconut--glutamate is nothing to worry about
