How Long Symptoms After Glutened

Hi guys,

After 20 years suffering, I was diagnosed with celiac. That was when I was 45. I have been gluten free for 4 years now and feel great. I gained 40 lbs. over the years and my weight finally matches my 6' 1" body. I think I have had diaria ONCE in the last 4 years. I think I have a higher tolerance than most. I stay on a strick gluten free diet. but I'm not as careful as most of you are.

Example: I eat Olf's puffed rice from walmart. Quaker rice cakes, and have been for years. I eat at Denny's, eggs bacon and hash browns. but I'm sure I'm getting crossed contaminated. But to the best of my knowledge I've never been seriosly glutened..........until now. I've had diarea for 10 days now and I'm scared. Only in the am 2 or 3 and then good the rest of the day. I've really tightened up, but my question is HOW LONG SHOULD I HAVE DIAREA FROM ONE GLUTINING?

Hi Craig

How many times a day do you have D if it is mor than 5 times a day I might want to call you Dr. something is defiantly going on, I does sound like you are getting cross comtamianated by Denny's. I would stop eating there for 2 weeks and see if that would help and just get up a little earlier to eat at home. Because you know that Denny's cook everything in the same fryer or pan or what ever that they use.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?

Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
