Altoids Alert

Since a well-known friend of ours is having difficulty getting Altoids up in the North  , I thought I would purchase some for her and send them there.

PLEASE NOTE: The tins I purchased of Altoids Smalls specifically state that they contain Wheat Maltodextrin.

The Altoids gum contains Isomalt -- I was a little concerned because I have been chewing that, as well -- but I Google'd it, and found this, so it looks okay:

If you have Altoids Smalls, please check the ingredients on the back. Just trying to keep my Sillyak friends healthy. :P

(And you guys thought I couldn't pull this off without being rediculous, didn't you????)

Just the Smalls? I bought a tin of the regular peppermint ones last week and the ingredient list looked okay. I don't want to give up my Altoids (wah!) so I hope it's just the smalls.

As far as I know, everything else is fine, even the strips. It's just the smalls.

I have also seen them listed with glucose (wheat) on the back recently. Who knew you get glucose from wheat! I do appretiate them labeling throughly though.

you do have to read the ingredients on *everything* including altoids. at least two of their products - the small mints and the mint gum - have wheat. they do label clearly, which is lovely, but you have to read the ingredients.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
    • mishyj
Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
