A New Weight Loss Support/accountability Thread Anyone else wanting to lose weight?

Hope you're all well!
Well, I moved back in with my Mum last Friday, so I've had a week of getting myself sorted and coming up with a plan of action! I am currently about 150lbs, want to get down to about 126lbs. My problem is I have such a sweet tooth! I started taking water tablets a week ago, just in case i had water retention...not sure if they've made much difference but its worth a try!
I've spent most of the week asleep, so not done any exercise, but I think i've cut down a bit on my food intake since I moved back here. I went shopping today and bought a pair of jeans and a couple of vest tops that actually fit me for the size i am now, so i feel a bit happier for being comfortable, instead of trying to squeeze into things that are too small for me.
Every day I plan to do 30mins on my stepper, go for a 20mins walk/jog (i'm not very good at running!) and do a few sit ups. Oh yeah, and I found some sort of contraption that my Mum bought while I was away to work the triceps/biceps, so I'll use that too.
I'm feelin a lot more positive today even though I'm absolutely shattered after walking round the shops this afternoon. I still don't have the appointment for my biopsy, but i can't do anything about that.
So, 'why put off 'til tomorrow what you can do today' - i'm going to put my trakkie bottoms on and get on my stepper!

Welcome Sophie and Texas nice to have new faces around here. Texas, are you from Texas if you are where are, I am and I am right in the middle of Dallas and Ft worth.
I have not been posting too much lately I started to post a few times at work but go really busy and had to shut down the computer or I was just too tired to complete the post. I am finally unpacked from moving just about only a box here and there to unpack, other than that everything has found a place. I am finished with school just about only I have to practice some more with my transcripition files and study some more to get my grade higher, right now I have a B average pretty much my instructor wants me to bring the last test grade up so it will look better to employers.
I have not weighed myself in quite some time but the last weigh in a couple of weeks ago was 147 1/2 lbs. so I am doing ok with my food but while moving it was really hard. My gluten-free food has not had any good choices and I am paying the price for but with moving I have tried to eat what I can to be ok.
I am not going to post my meals for now but my next posts I will.
I really hope that everybody is doing great on ya'll's diets.

I am really interested in this forum but am unsure how things work.
I haven't really been diagnosed but my natural doctor told me I was and I've been gluten-free for a month.
I've been sick since I was a kid and missed lots of school, I started out 199 lbs in 2003 then lost 50 lbs and felt better on the Atkins diet(less gluten)then went off it in 2004 when I met my husband. I gained weight mostly during the planning of our wedding (I had to buy a new dress).I have since 2005 gone from 150 lbs on my wedding day to 250 lbs today my anniversary is on Sept. 5 and I want to lose 20 lbs.
I have severe bloating , gas and D so much that one day I look pregnant and gain like ten lbs (yesterday) then the next day I'm fine like today any Ideas?

Taracottagreen. You might want to cut out dairy and possibly soy for a while as well to see if that helps.

Do you have room for one more?
I have always been on the heavy side, having a large frame structure, but I am way over now. I am currently 284 lbs and would like to get down to 210 lbs or so. A year and a half ago, while I was traveling to and from Mexico on a job assignment, I went through a rough time and was continuously getting glutened and had lost a lot of weigth to quickly. In 4 months time I was down to 230 lbs - a lose of 50 lbs. I finally got an apartment down there and was able to shop and cook for myself. I then gained everything slowly back - faster after completing my job assignment and then starting school.

As soon as I've had the biopsy (I rang my specialist yesterday and he said it will probably be at the beginning of August) I'm going totally gluten free. I did it for about a month a little while ago and the improvements were incredible, so I'm looking forward to doing it again.
Then I can really start concentrating on losing a bit of weight and toning up! Just in time for my holiday in Sept!!!

Hi Sophie, don't be surprised if your biopsy comes back normal if you have been eating gluten free, but since you are in the UK maybe your doctors are smart enough or have the equipment agile enough to find it.
I did all my testing 3 months gluten free and when the biopsy came back negative I started to eat gluten again and for 7 months and had the pill cam still showed nothing but I still had symptoms. the only thing that I have done that seem to show anything that I can't let it tell me that I have anything is lab results that I paid for out of my pocket from the poo results, I can't think of the name of the Lab but it is a big contravesy with some of the posters on some of the threads, so I can only let the results give me an idea of what is going on.

So, I'm back to confess. I'm super fat. I've been bad ... very bad. I'm a clean 170 - there, I said it. Stuff's been pretty awesome. Summer in SD - who could ask for more?
I went bathing suit shopping yesterday, because we've been beaching it lately - water's 70-72 degrees - awesome ! Anyway, as I was looking at this suit I was trying on, it dawned on me ... it's not the bathing suit that's the problem - my suit looks stupid because I'm fat ! So, needless to say, I didn't get a bathing suit. i figure all the suits will be off the shelves in less than a month, so I don't have much time.
It's pretty simple.
I need to work out. I'm weak, like a piece of rice paper. My lungs are weak (smoking aside, the only cardio I get is frolicking in the waves).
I need to make better food choices & not eat whatever I feel like.
It's a great summer, but I gotta get to work, here. I'm really not taking any steps toward losing the weight or toning up the bod.

Hey, Liz - how's it going? There's another MCD person. Hopefully, she'll hang around and let us know how it goes with her husband - poor guy - I remember the last part of that treatment was torture. Anyway, hope you're having a slammin' summer.

I actually got back on track yesterday and ate low carb and exercised well. So far today I'm doing well too. I know what I need to do to lose weight, I just need to do it. My plan is to get back to eating low carb and having a free meal with dessert once a week. I don't think I'll take a whole free day until I lose at least 10 pounds.
I've been working out regularly, so I have a lot of muscle under my layer of insulation. I've been timing myself running a mile occasionally and I'm down to 8:56 on a 12 lap track (lots of turns) and need to find an outdoor track to time myself with less turns. I'm thinking about doing another little triathlon in September, but I don't think I can fit into my wetsuit. We'll see how my workouts go and if I can get into the water to swim enough to be in shape for that part.

Started Specific Carbohydrate Diet on 8-16-09 because son was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis and want to give him moral support.
Diagnosed with Minimal Change Nephrotic Syndrome in 2003. Discovered that going completely gluten-free put me in remission.
