If there is one thing that I miss, it's beef jerky. Does anybody know if there is a gluten-free brand around? I know it is soo hard to find because most use soy sauces :( I know I have heard of a few, but I can't recall the names now.

I know I could make it, but that's alot of work and trouble!! haha I just want to go to the store and buy a bag. I'm SOOO Craving it!! HELP!!

-Jessica

Check out Open Original Shared Link. They've got a number of gluten-free items, they're tasty, and they responded in ONE DAY when I asked what gluten-free items they had - responded by emailing me AND updating their website!

(It can be tough to find - the REI (camping/hiking equipment store) around here carries it.)

O'bertos, but check the flavor. Some are and some aren't. The ones that aren't have wheat listed. Or call the company to male sure.

We make the Oberto Natural Style Beef Jerky Red bag, the UPC should start with 28400 they are 4oz packages and the original, peppered and hickory are all gluten free.

Oberto Classic Thin Style peppered and original 1 5/16oz. in some areas 3.5oz. are available.

Oberto Meat sticks UPC code again begins with 28400: Pepperoni mild, Pepperoni Spicy 99cent sticks.

Oberto Salami Sliced and Chub

Oberto Bites 1.2oz package. Pepperoni, Hickory and peppered.

Pacific Gold Beef Jerky sold only at Costco 2/8oz packages: Original, Peppered and Hot N Spicy.

We buy the Pacific Gold beef jerky all the time at Costco. It tends to be my boys favorite choice of protein for their lunches. I just wish they could make their Turkey Jerky to be gluten-free, since I get a little tired of beef...

Thanks for posting the info Jessica. :)

God bless,

Mariann

Thank you and I am aware that I should be eating a "normal" diet until tested it's kind of been trial and error for my diet or more like just ERROR! I about 1-3 bites a meal I'm to a point that 99 percent of the time I'm having trouble swallowing just about everything occasionally I find either something or a very small window of time that allows me to get very little of something! I am basically getting zero nutrition what so ever because I take one bite of the meal that I usually just slaved over just to end up tossing it when it's all said and done...did anyone else ever experience anything like this?  I am more then open to suggestions! It is taking a very extreme toll on me and my body forsure

No! Do not start the gluten free diet until you know whether or not you will be having an endoscopy/biopsy to verify the blood antibody test results. Starting gluten free eating ahead of either form of diagnostic testing can invalidate the results. You don't want to allow the villous lining of the small bowel to experience healing ahead of testing by removing gluten.

We offer a ton of recipes here: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/gluten-free-recipes/ and have done some articles on fast food places, but keep in mind that eating out is a common source of gluten contamination: https://www.celiac.com/search/?q=fast food&quick=1&type=cms_records2 Many colleges now offer allergen-friendly, and sometimes gluten-free options in their student cafeterias: https://www.celiac.com/search/?&q=colleges&type=cms_records2&quick=1&search_and_or=and&sortby=relevancy PS - Look into GliadinX, which is a sponsor here, but many studies have been done on it which show that it may break down small amounts of gluten in the stomach, before it reaches the intestines.
