Hello everybody!
I am wondering is anyone has ever had any gastro problems with maltitol (artificial sweetener). I bought some macaroons that were gluten-free, CF, and sweetened with maltitol. MAN! I feel like I've been glutened, but I cannot imagine from what. Cottage cheese? Everything else I've had (besides the cookies) is something I've cooked myself. AAAAAgggggghhh! Stomach rumbles, gas, etc. I looked up maltitol and found in one article that it can give stomach cramps and gas.
I am just telling you...don't buy the maltitol sweetened macaroons. Yikes!
anybody else have any symptoms like this?

gluten free since 7-07 with positive dietary response
Enterolab results positive for gluten sensitivity

Yep. I don't have celiac, but I can't do any of the sugar alcohols except for the occasional piece of gum. They are a laxative.
