Last night my teenage son went with a few friends to Unos, someplace he's not gone to since being diagnosed, but a good friend who'd moved away was in town and loved the place. He was very careful, asked the waiter to check on the cheese fries (he thought these might be safe) and the waiter did. Said they were gluten free! So, he had them (ate half the platter) before the manager came out. My son said the manager looked very worried...apologized profusely and said they'd made a mistake.
My son has been so careful lately. He gets the whole rash effect (that takes weeks to go away) along with headaches, gastro problems and emotional reactions. I could have cried for him. Anyway, here it is three days before Thanksgiving break and he'll be lucky if he's okay to go to school for the half day on Wednesday.
I guess this is just a "be careful" kind of post.
