So...I've decided I am no longer buying any Enjoy Life Products.

One, they are expensive (well, yeah, so is most gluten-free stuff).

Two, I haven't really found any of their products I actually like - they seem to lack flavor (tried those small round cookies, cranberry granola, and their bars).

Thirdly, and importantly, everything they sell seems to be on minature ! The bars in the individually wrapped packages are way smaller than other brands. I opened the box of the granola and the bag inside was 2/3 the size of the box. Ugh.

I am not crazy about most of their stuff either. But I do like their Open Original Shared Link. They are the only ones I have been able to find without soy. Soy isn't a problem for me, but I have a friend that has to avoid gluten, soy and dairy. When I cook for her, I use the Enjoy Life chips.

I didn't know that chocolate chips had soy in them. My friend just found out that she can't have soy, corn or wheat, so she's having trouble adjusting to the new diet just because she's been eating things that she never would have thought might have allergens in them. (For example, there's corn syrup in her half and half.) I'll have to let her know about the chocolate chips.

I learn so much just from lurking here...

Hi, I like the Enjoy Life chocolate chips too.

I got to know my local grocer who carries them and they ordered the fifty pound box for me, huge savings, like one third the cost of the packages, of course it means I have fifty pounds of chocolate chips...

We consistently use the Enjoy Life choc chips and the snickerdoodles.

I often find with many gluten-free brands that just a few things are *really* good and the rest I could do without. For example, Glutino pretzels ROCK. Glutino honey-nut O cereal is yucky.

I also use their chocolate chips--yikes Rinne--50 pounds! I'd be in real trouble

I do like their Snickerdoodles and Lively Lemon cookies. You're right--they are expensive for the small amount you get, but I have several other intolerances, and sometimes I just want to open up a package and have a treat--I make just about everything else from scratch. I'm sure everyone can relate :D

I buy their products because, it is something packaged that I can eat, YEA!!! However, I don't know what their vanilla has in it but every time I try those products, I get sick so that limits what I can buy of theirs but at least it is something. Nobody else even comes close!

I like some to their items and dislike others. I like the snack bars, chocolate chips, chocolate chip cookies and snicker-doodles. I did not care for the granolas very much and did not like the "No Oats" oatmeal cookies at all.

Since it it expensive I don't buy a lot of their products.

I like their chocolate chips. Daughter likes all of the cookies except the no oats oatmeal. We served the Gingerbread and Double Chocolate Brownies at her birthday party last year and everyone likes them. The Lively Lemon go over well with my family. So do the Snickerdoodles. Yes, they're expensive but I like the 2 packs. I often put these in daughter's lunch. She also likes the snack bars. She didn't care for the cereal or trail mix though.

I wish there was something we could do about our "special" products being so expensive...

Enjoy Life products aren't my favorite, but in a pinch it is nice to be able to buy a box of soft baked cookies that are safe, so I agree with others on that point.

of course it means I have fifty pounds of chocolate chips...

Omgosh rinne! 50 lbs of chocolate :D

That's a lot of chocolate to share space with, that would be dangerous for me

LOL! That is exactly how I felt when I found them! I always keep at least 3 or 4 bags around. We have banana-chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast at least twice a week. I use them as add-ins for brownies and blondies. I've even made chocolate ganache using EJ chips and rice milk. (And sometimes, when I need a little pick me up, a small handful is just the thing!) :-)

I only wish they would change the type of vanilla they use - not sure what it is but it makes me sick. However, I do have to make my own with potato vodka since I cannot tollerate any grain alcohols like most people can. If they did, I would buy more of their products, expensive or not...they work great when I have to be out all day for fencing tournaments or swim meets and do not have access to a microwave and still need to eat.

I guess when I wrote I will no longer buy Enjoy Life, it's in part because I will buy other brands. I like Glutino and Kinnikinnick stuff way better, as well as Gluten Free Pantry. I just keep feeling jipped when I buy Enjoy Life, opening up the product to find a tiny package within - with a high price tag.

I make my chocolate chip cookies with the mini baking M&Ms...there is a great recipe on recipezaar.com in the gluten free section and I just use the m&ms instead of chocolate chips (and throw in some ground flaxseed).

I'm also a nurse, but one who has worked in chronic care, and to some extent, it is more satisfying to see patients through to a diagnosis (as opposed to working in the ED), but an accurate diagnosis does not occur not as often as it should! Your posting presents a lot of information. But a couple of things I can respond to. One, celiac disease is diagnosed by endoscopy and biopsy of the duodenum. So, pathology will need to weigh in. It's not diagnosed on gastroscopy. (At least, not as far as I know). Two, did you get blood tests for celiac disease? You will need to be eating gluten in order for those to be accurate. Three, where was the CT angiogram (of what)? I could go on and on, but thought I'd start there.

Was a biopsy done when you had your gastroscopy? Concerning your anemia, are you B12 deficient? It's nearly impossible to get sufficient B12 if you are a vegetarian unless you take supplements.
    • Suzi374
And I’m anaemic, however I’m also female and vegetarian. I had an iron trans a couple of years ago however it’s starting to dwindle and taking supplements doesn’t seem to work. I can’t seem to absorb it.

Hi, I attended a neurologist appt last Tuesday, which I nearly cancelled, due to ongoing numbness and tingling in toes to mid foot. One of the first things he asked was ‘are you celiac’. I’m not. He thought all reflexes were ok but at the last minute decided on nerve conduction tests which were low normal. He was a little confused as he felt they should be better and tried a new set of probs, all the time, giving me multiple shocks which were not enjoyable lol. Anyway, he’s now ordered tests for myeloma, and all the vitaminy things that so many of you mention on here, also tests looking for autoimmune responses. I already have Hashimotos. Interestingly, to me, but maybe someone out there can relate or knows more than i do, although I was a nurse, but ED not ‘weird symptoms’  nurse. Anyway back to the interesting thing, I took duramine in 2013 to lose weight which caused a massive panic attack when I stopped taking it and half my hair fell out. I only took it for a week but it was horrible and I regret it. It triggered ongoing panic attacks which are horrendous. So I feel like I’m a bit crazy. Then in 2020 I had this sudden onset of horrible pain when trying to eat a cinnamon roll. It continued and I lost around 20 kgs. I had two gastroscopes and a colonoscopy and they were all normal. I scored a barium swallow and CT angiogram. All normal. The pain subsided a little but I was left with reflux and an awful feeling that I couldn’t get air when I ate some foods. This was not anxiety.  The anxiety was separate and I still maintain this. This was something to do with eating. It was like the air was thick but I wasn’t short of breath. I just had the sensation I was, then it triggered anxiety. Anyway, I had other weird things- couldn’t bend knees to shave legs in shower lol. Knees felt stiff and swollen but they weren’t. Knee WOUld swell up randomly but mri showed minimal issues. A bit of a meniscus degeneration but insignificant. Then the buzzing sensations in my head, the feeling like someone was stabbing me with something sharp. So now, I pre empted his tests, although I don’t think I’m celiac because it should have come up on gastroscopy, I’ve gone off gluten. Since Tuesday last week so 9 days. Since then I don’t appear to be as constipated, I realised I got through today without a nap and I’m not tired, maybe it’s just today and not related but I get very tired normally and sleep straight after work often, I can bend my knees and shave my legs lol, the buzzing vibrating has gone from my head, I had to call and ambulance as my heart decided we were off on a run, but we weren’t running and I’ve been a bit twitchy at bed time when trying to sleep, reflux is improving, I did get the weird suffocating feeling a bit when eating today but not as bad normall. Tingling and numbness still present and I felt like it moved up my legs a bit today but I’m a bit jittery. So I don’t know if it’s celiac disease or a gluten intolerance but I think, and it may be wishful thinking because my symptoms do make life a bit challenging, but maybe I’m feeling better. I don’t feel as cloudy. My thinking feels crisper. Like there’s no buzzing and I’m not fighting to break through the cloudiness now. I hope so much that this may help me feel a bit better moving forward. It would be a miracle as I really have struggled to work and parent and keep the house clean and I’m always anxious and exhausted.  If you get this far, please tell me if you you can relate to any of the above. Oh and tonsils out 5 years ago but before that antibiotics multiple times a year, sometimes intramuscular because they were so bad.  Op was meant to take 30 mins, it took 1.5 hours due to size of them.
