Help!
I am new here, but I have been diagnosed since may of last year. I have used this site so much to help me figure out how to manage everything. I have been doing *ok* at the diet, but I just realized that i have to replace ALL my beauty products. I am a huge Aveda fan and my skin is so sensitive and it took me years to find face and hair products that work for me but I just learned that they all contain gluten! Luckily, my make up is Bare Essenciauls and bare minerals, but everything else I use has to go! Does anyone know of good quality, natural alternatives I could use to replace my Aveda and Aveeno products?

The Giovanni products are nice. Even their golden wheat shampoo is gluten-free, and yes I spoke to the rep about that as it doesn't have a lick of wheat in it. I liked the 50/50 shampoo and Smooth as Silk conditioner. They also have a number of new styling products, I used to use the hair gel, and skin care but I haven't checked the gluten statis of most of those.

celiac 49 years - Misdiagnosed for 45
Blood tested and repeatedly negative
Diagnosed by Allergist with elimination diet and diagnosis confirmed by GI in 2002
Misdiagnoses for 15 years were IBS-D, ataxia, migraines, anxiety, depression, fibromyalgia, parathesias, arthritis, livedo reticularis, hairloss, premature menopause, osteoporosis, kidney damage, diverticulosis, prediabetes and ulcers, dermatitis herpeformis
All bold resoved or went into remission with proper diagnosis of Celiac November 2002
Some residual nerve damage remains as of 2006- this has continued to resolve after eliminating soy in 2007
Mother died of celiac related cancer at 56
Twin brother died as a result of autoimmune liver destruction at age 15
Children 2 with Ulcers, GERD, Depression, , 1 with DH, 1 with severe growth stunting (male adult 5 feet)both finally diagnosed Celiac through blood testing and 1 with endo 6 months after Mom

Try Dove and Neutrogena. I've contacted the companies before and they have gluten free products. Just search for them on this forum. Neutrogena even emailed me a list of their gluten free products.

After much investigation, here is what I found that works for me.
I have multiple sensitivities, including sodium lauryl sulfate and I have trouble with many "hypoallergenic" products (including weleda and kneip). I finally found some that are mostly natural and scented with botanicals, rather than chemicals.
Gluten-free hair/ face/ bath/body lines I like:
*Caudalie (only 3 products, including the shampoo, have gluten) Lotions, face care, soaps
*100% pure (except the mascara, their tocopherols are from rice bran.) Skin care, soaps and cosmetics.
*Sundari skincare (read the ingredients-- many products are okay) face and body
*Korres natural products (they sent a spreadsheet with safe products) Skin care, hair care (styling products!)
*LUSH cosmetics-- they have a full line of gluten free products and SLS free soaps. Read the ingredients. But the have shampoos (solids!), conditioners, styling products, deoderants, creams, face care, soaps, bath products, lotions, etc.
*Juara skincare (most products are gluten free, but they cannot guarantee no trace amounts from their suppliers)
*Burt's Bees-- on their website, they feature a long list of gluten free products, including deoderants, toothpaste, hair case, face care and body care products and makeup. This company is another winner for me.
Make-up lines:
-Smashbox (everything is gluten-free)
-NARS (everything is gluten-free)
-T. LeClerc makeup (everything is gluten-free)
-Clarins (they sent a long list of unsafe products)
-Lancome-- some lipsticks
-Clinique-- some lipsticks
-Chanel lipstick and lipgloss-- all of it.
Good luck~ for me this was harder than the food ever was because the label laws are different and many companies honestly do not know what is in there.
