I see this is an old post. My doctor says I have Celiac Disease, I have all the symptoms but just waiting to go to the specialist and for the biopsy. I am so lost right now and don't want to eat anything and eating out that we always did is now such a hassle....

So frustrated!

Hi Krista,

I assume that you are living in Nova Scotia since you are bringing up this old post.

It is a big shock when the initial diagnosis arrives, but I can tell you it gets better. There is a lot of support in Nova Scotia. The NS Chapter of the Canadian Celiac Association has support groups in Halifax, Sydney, Baddeck, Cheticamp and New Glasgow. The Halifax group meets every 3rd Thursday (except December, July and August) at 7:30 pm at Veterans Memorial Hospital. I have found a lot of support there. Here is their website: http://www3.ns.sympatico.ca/celiac.halifax/.

Doug
