Is this safe for Celiacs? I see Hydrolyzed Soybean oil is on the safe list, but what about the veggie oils?

Safe....hyrdolized vegetable protein can be a problem, but the oil is okay :)

I though Hydrolyzed Soybean oil was not safe?

Hmmm, I try to stay away from soy anyway though.

Oh, i'm sorry....I thought it said "Hydrolized vegetable oil". I don't know about SOYBEAN oil....so i'm not sure...sorry!!! :(

Hydrolyzed Soy PROTEIN is not safe. Now I don't know about the oil.......so from what I gather its the proteins that aren't safe?? :blink:

Hold on....soy oil or vegetable oil. The topic says vegetbale oil, and here it says soy oil.....i'm confused :)

Here's my understanding (somebody correct me if I'm wrong):

All oils, hydrolized or otherwise, are gluten-free. Even "vegetable" oil.

Hydrolized vegetable protein is on our suspect list because it could POSSIBLY be made from wheat. However, if it's a specific hydrolized protein, such as soy, corn, etc, it's OK unless it's hydrolized wheat protein. It's not the hydrolizing that makes it non-gluten-free, it's what they hydrolize.

I looked on Clan Thompsons site and here is something:

"Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein: Gluten free: Unknown. Vegetarian: Unknown. Comments: Don't use unless it's from corn or soy."

      Trying to read my lab results

      Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep...

      Constant low back, abdominal and pelvic pain!

      I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.
