Last month I was in Stockholm, just a week or two after I started eating gluten-free, and was amazed to find so many gluten-free products, clearly labeled and even set aside on a gluten-free shelf in a neighborhood supermarket. Among the great finds was a gluten free "knackebrod" (they're a kind of thick, crisp cracker similar to the Wasa crackers that we have in supermarkets here). I've looked all over the shopping sources on this site and elsewhere, but can't find any gluten free crackers that are similar. Anyone know of any here in the US?
By the way, awareness of gluten sensitivity in Sweden, or at least Stockholm, was pretty high. In one seafood restaurant, after asking the waiter whether a dish I wanted to order had gluten in it, he immediately responded that it didn't; then he came back to the table in a little while with a plate of gluten-free toast for me to eat while my friends ate the other bread!
