Does anyone know of a way to hasten recovery from an accidental gluten poisening? My poor son (age 12) has been down and out for 4 days now with no improvement. Yes, it's definitely a celiac episode. It's sad to watch.

I recently found out that at least with my body, the only way I'll feel is to have the gluten completely out of my system. I ate a non-gluten-free dinner roll on Sunday (stupid, stupid experiment tp test my +/- test results and let's just say I found the answer I needed) and am just barely beginning to feel better now. Unless anyone else has any magic remedies, I've just been drinking lots of water to try and flush my system out as best I can. I hope your son feels better soon!

My doctor tells me it takes 3 weeks to heal from a single gluten accident :(

I hope he feels better soon.

Blessings,

Lily

There are 2 aspects of the recovery:

- digestive tube (duodenum) recovery;

- rest of the body (that feels the effects of the crisis, too);

You should apply indigestion recovery measures (diet with mint tea, for ex.) and flu-like recovery tactics (rest to bed, may be some mild vitamin supplem, preferable by injection because many tablets can contain gluten and injected vitamins have quicker effect).

Best wishes.

Andrew.
