Enzyme Potentiated Desensitisation Treatment For Coeliac?

Has anyone any experience of having these 'shots' for celiac? Any information or reasearch would be helpfull. This treatment has been suggested to a friend as a treatment instead of the gluten-free diet but I cannot find any details.

My own daughter is doing really well gluten-free and is growing like a weed!

I have never heard of this, but it sounds fishy to me. I am sure if there really was a valid treatment that got rid of celiac disease, we would all know about it. As far as I know, the gluten-free diet is the only valid treatment for celiac disease at this point.

I am glad your daughter is doing well.

This sounds like an allergy treatment. You can be desensitised for allergens but not for autoimmune reactions. Even a small amount can keep the autoimmune process going. I wouldn't do it, it is snake oil if they are trying to sell it as a treatment for gluten intolerance or celiac.

      Trying to read my lab results

      Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep...

      Constant low back, abdominal and pelvic pain!

      I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

      Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
