Went to Whole Foods to buy a bottle, and there was such a dizzying array, I just gave up? Is Enzymedica worth the money, or will the inexpensive Whole Foods 365 brand suffice? I need something to help me digest protein, vitamins, and minerals from my food. I'd really appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance.

By the way, I love this website. You've all been great helping me adapt to this new dietary lifestyle.

Nikki,

I am really having trouble digesting and absorbing. Right now I am taking a prescription pancreatic enzyme mixture called Pangestyme UL20. You could google that to get the ingredients, it helps with the protein for sure. I take 2 at every meal.

Then I take two other things that are OTC. One is called Digest Plus, by Professional Formulas (only available from a doctor's office). Then I also take Carb Digest (Kirkman) which my MD just prescribed when my test came back showing ok fat and protein digestion but very poor carb digestion.

Can your doc prescribe some? At least with the prescription I get some help with the cost via insurance.
4/2007 Positive IGA, TTG Enterolab results, with severe malabsorption: Two DQ2 celiac genes--highest possible risk.

gluten-free since 4/22/07; SF since 7/07; 3/08 & 7/08 high sugar levels in stool (i.e. cannot break down carbs) digestive enzymes for carbs didn't help; 7/18/08 started SCD as prescribed by my physician (MD).

10/2000 dx LYME disease; 2008 clinical dx CELIAC; Other: hypothyroid, allergies, dupuytrens, high mercury levels
