Celiac: Health matters at Political Gateway
Florida- (Political Gateway 1-19-2005)- Political Gateway.com, a website catering to political candidates, mavens, and news hounds has added a health news feed dedicated to Celiac Disease. Sufferers of Celiac disease find they cannot eat wheat and many other grains or they get a host of other diseases. Although unknown to most people, the disease can be found in 1 out of 170 people in the US.
Bob Hoffman, editor of Political Gateway, is a Celiac himself. He now offers free news/information feeds to Celiac and other health websites. Most notable is the long running www.celiac.comrun by Scott Adams. “Finding that site saved my life,” Hoffman adds, “and the least I could do was shine a light on this disease so others can be aware of it.”
What type of problems can be caused by eating Wheat and other grains? You would be surprised at the list and your chances of healing yourself with a simple diet change.
A partial listing of these includes insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (type I), Graves' disease, Addison's disease, scleroderma, chronic active hepatitis, myasthenia gravis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and Sjogren's syndrome, autism, chronic fatigue syndrome (myalgic encephalomyelitis or ME, PVS, post viral fatigue syndrome or PVFS), attention deficit disorder (ADD), and ADHD. Even Cancer can be added to this list. Weight gain and weight loss are not to be discounted wither.
A test is very simple. Ask your doctor for one. Surprisingly many doctors never test for it, prescribing and misdiagnosing instead.
