I e-mailed the company and received a letter in reply. It states:

Thank you for contacting us at John Morrell. It is always a pleasure to hear from a customer who will take the time and interest to contact us. Our ham products are gluten free with one exception; if you purchase a ham that contains a glaze packet, the packet only will contain gluten. Our bacon and franks are also gluten free. If John Morrell products contain gluten, wheat will be listed as an allergen in the ingredient text. We do not use rye, barley or oats. We place a special value on comments such as yours..........

It also included a $1 off coupon. :D
