I was doing so well. Only one month into the diet and I felt great! Last night I was so sick! It felt just like old times, before going gluten free. I didn't eat anything unusual, there is no CC in my house. The only thing I can think of that was different yesterday is I went to the dentist and started a box of Crest Whitestrips. Did the dentist use something that contains gluten? Are Whitestrips safe?

Did you have your teeth cleaned? If so, and the cleaning compound was flavored, that might have been it. I believe you can request a gluten-free one for next time, although you may need to do it in advance to be sure they have it on hand. I think Whitestrips are OK.

Amyleigh0007,

Wanted to let you know we are having the same problems at my house. Every single week we have a set-back. We've been getting gluten from foods that we don't know it is in. The learning curve is painful. Yesterday I was so discouraged. Better days ahead.

I saw my Gastro on Monday and he told me patience. I cannot know everything all at once, the big thing is I am making major steps in the right direction. He told me to keep a personal journal to record what gets me sick, or what happen to make me sick and journaling have helped.

I do think of Randy Pausch's Last Lecture where he discusses the brick wall and I know on the other side is a life that will change my life, my family's life and those who know me. I want it so I will not be denied and I'll work through it. I have also found that a local friend has Celiac and lets just say in some ways he is becoming a mentor who can assist me through some of this. I do believe with the diligence we give to it, it will get better.

I went to the dentist today for a cleaning and I won't mention the rest . . . .

the learning curve is definitely painful, but I guess it's something that we've all got to go through. Like it was said before, you can't know everything right away

Thank you for all the positive words. It helps so much to be able to vent to people who understand.

Enlarged lymph nodes in neck and groin with celiac are not uncommon. They can take time to reduce even after going gluten-free. Monitoring is key.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
