Hello,
I have been doing some research on aspartame (enough to make me decide to quit drinking diet sodas), and am wondering if the common side effects (diarrhea, esp) affect us worse than non-celiacs?
Anyone have any info?
Thanks, Dinah

Diagnosed 4/06 by positive biopsy and tissue transglutamase after only 4 months of being sick.

Hello Dinah,
I think the effects of aspartame are bad even if you are not celiac. Aspartame has caused my headaches and once I figured it out I stopped. Not only is this in soft drinks but many other items as well (including gum). Diet Rite contains splenda which does not effect me so becomes an occasional replacement when I just want a soda drink.
