Having Problems Getting Test Results From York Lab

Anyone else experiencing delays from York Labs in getting back their FoodScan test results? I was charged for the test back in January and still haven't received my results. I have emailed them and was told "another week" - I hope I haven't wasted my $379 on this...

I didn't have any problem with York. I requested that they email me my results and they did that, before they mailed out the package. I received my results in approximately two weeks. I would email them again.

I found York customer service to be very good, our test results took very long too, but we eventually received them. We did it during the end of the Summer and the Florida hurricanes held it up. York accepts emails, so if you want to contact them that way, they'll respond. I've had questions after the test and contacted them via email and they got back to me within the week.

I too suffered a prolonged delay with some implausible excluse. The receptionist was sympathetic, but unable to actually help. I suspect the wait is on the other end (England). I think the US "branch" give a too optimistic estimate of turn around. Regarding answers to questions... I found them sloppy in their monitoring of email and "John" was hard to get ahold of after the sale.

Kvogt -

How long was your "prolonged delay" if you don't mind me asking? I was billed for the test the first week of January - so I'm over 2 months now without any results and really needing an answer as to other possibilities as to why I'm so sick.

Sorry for the slow reply. My delay was like 5-6 weeks. I was expecting 3 weeks, especially since I paid for the faster delivery. They said their lab had "email problems". I was unimpressed with their reason. I suggest you call and complain - loudly.

If you put the test on your credit card, I would call up and dispute the charge with your credit card company, informing them that you are unable to secure a reliable response from the company. You'll have your test sooner rather than later this way, I assure you.

I spoke to John the director at the Florida office of York Labs late yesterday and he promised to have my results emailed to me today or I would get my money back. I'll keep you posted as to what happens.

John the director at York Labs (Hollywood, FL location) promised me I would have my results no later than 3/17 and he came through. The 2 page lab results were emailed to me, with the rest of the package being shipped first class.

(I am severely reactive to 14 different food items including corn, soy, dairy, eggs, etc. plus another 4 items were shown to be moderately reactive and I should rotate them. No wonder I've been so sick.)

I mailed mine 3 weeks ago and hope to hear soon (expecting to wait 4-6 weeks). Do you think I should contact them after 8 weeks. Glad you heard.

Melanie -

I would start calling after 8 weeks, don't use the email. They blew off my emails asking about the results with no response at all.

Hi, I got my test results today. I'm a little confused by them but thought I would let you know I got them. I think it took 4 to 5 weeks.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
    • mishyj
Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.

My daughter has celiac disease and has had for a long time. She fell loses strictly gluten-free diet and recently got rid of all cutting boards in any gluten in her house at all. She just had a stool test and it came back showing of gigantic response to gluten in her diet. What could be going on since she doesn't eat any gluten and is very careful about any kind of hidden glue? Help!

I think sometimes the pain described here can be a result of a sort of 'perfect storm' of contributing factors.  Recently I had an appalling bout of lower back pain, lower burning gut pain and what felt like cramps.  I then started to think about what could have caused it and I realised it was several things that had set it off: I'd been carrying heavy luggage (back strain); I had been sitting down in a car for too long and wearing a tight belt (I have pudendal nerve issues and sacroiliac issues and this exacerbates the pain), and I had bloating and burning pain in my colon caused by eating too much soy, latte and caffeine, I guess putting further pressure in the lower abdomen.  I had this same pain prior to my diagnosis and a couple of years post-diagnosis, I'd quite forgotten how unpleasant it was.

HI @Kirbyqueen That's great news your insurance will be kicking in soon.  Sorry to see that you have been dealing with this for six months now, but I do hope you have managed to find some relief with some of the suggestions in the meantime. Perhaps come back and let us know what the doctor says. Cristiana
