I'm anemic and have had problems with low iron since at least my early twenties. I'm 29 now and we are trying to figure out the cause. My blood test for Celiac came back negative. I'm scheduled for a colonoscopy and an upper endoscopy to make sure there's not any bleeding going on. They are also doing the biopsy for Celiac while they are in there. If they don't find anything I'm being sent to a Hemotologist. My red and white blood count is also a little low.

Did anyone have a negative blood test, but positive biopsy for Celiac? I'm hoping it's Celiac because the alternative causes scare me a little.

No current method of testing is 100% reliable. The blood test can show false negatives and the biopsy can miss the effected areas. A positive dietary response is a fairly good indicater.

Good luck with your testing and remain on a full gluten diet until you have exaused your testing options for best accuracy.

      Trying to read my lab results

      Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep...

      Constant low back, abdominal and pelvic pain!

      I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

      Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
