We are planning a small trip up to the DC area later this year but I am trying to figure out the budget right now so I am looking at places that are safe to eat at. My son is also gluten free and will turn 3 on the trip.

We will be staying in Alexandria, VA and be taking the metro to DC to take him to the zoo, aquarium and some museums. Do you know of any places that are not only gluten friendly but kid friendly?? Not like chuck e cheese or anything but just places that aren't expensive and more formal.

The Austin Grill is awesome. There is one within walking distance of the museums. Also, the cafe at the American Indian Museum has many gluten-free options (and they list gluten-free on the card too).
