Hi, I'm new to the celiac world and just trying to learn more about safe rest. I wondering if anyone new of any local restaurants in Tampa, Fl that are gluten free, have gluten free menus, or natural items that are gluten-free on the menu? I have only been gluten-free for about 3 1/2 weeks and have no really ventured out to restaunts yet. I love Italian food and would really love to be able to find an Italian restaurant in Tampa.

I actually currently live in Northern NJ so any insight on any no chain gluten-free restaurants in NJ is much apprecaited as well.

thanks in advance for the help! :D

Hi! I am from Tampa so I hope I can be of some help. Tampa has the typical chains with gluten-free menus: Outback, Carrabas, Bonefish, PF Changs, Maggiano's (great gluten-free pasta!), Chipotle (a bit risky), and Chic-Fil-A (also a bit risky). There is also a local restaurant called CDB's. The owner has a Celiac family member and will be able to talk you through the menu and feed you safely. Call ahead just to make them aware. Also, if you give them 48 hrs. notice, the owner will make you a gluten free pizza! I haven't tried it yet, but it is nice to have that option. Other than that, Publix, Whole, Foods, and Abby's are grocery stores that carry some gluten-free products. I hope this helps.

Yes, CDB Southside is owned by the same person as CDB's. I ate at CDB Southside the time I went there. Enjoy!

You should check out Leeroy Selmon's. I visited Tampa a couple weeks go and had a great meal there! They have a gluten-free menu with plenty on it. It's my understanding they're owned/operated by the Outback ppl.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
    • mishyj
Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
