hey everyone its been a while since ive been here, but im back. i gave up the gluten free life for the last year or so and while i must say i enjoyed eating 'normal' again im ready to give it another serious go.my symptoms are still very minor , but i think im starting to notice more little annoying symptoms like joint pain and headaches are getting worse, especially after eating pizza? cant figure that one out, i can eat a whole loaf of bread , but if i eat a few slices of pizza ...look out.

i have no real question or concerns right now , i just wanted to say hello again.

Hi! :)

re: Pizza....are you taking about store bought or homemade?

Is it possible that its the cheese thats bothering you?

If you're talking about store bought (eg from Pizza hut etc)...those pizzas are really high in fat and preservitives....It could be those things that are bothering you also - as apposed to the gluten content.

Anyway, just a thought! :D

Hi and welcome back! I'm considering not following the gluten free diet and have a couple questions. I feel worse now then before I started this thing. I know it takes time to heal, so I'm trying to be patient. What did your doctor say about not following? How were your symptoms, if you had any, when you started eating gluten again?

hey easy.. my symptoms were very mild , very bad gas and diarrhea if you consider those mild...lol but after 25 years of dealing with it i guess it just seemed normal.its just been recently when the headaches and now severe bone and joint pain started. i went to the dr. last week and he talked me into giving it another go and see if the pain goes away. good luck to you whatever direction you go.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
    • mishyj
Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
