Symptoms With Time.....

I've was diagnosed in Oct.08 and been eating gluten free since Nov.08. Although I didn't have major symptoms, occasional bloating and constipation, I've felt alot better since eating gluten-free. I have to admit that I have eaten stuff that I shouldn't have in the past month, but I've had no symptoms what so ever. No Bloating, no pains, no C.

My question is, with time, as the Vili heals, does Celiac go away? Or I've been reading that after eating gluten-free for a while, people get more sensitive? It's difficut for me because of the fact that I don't feel any symptoms, that I want to eat anything and think that it doesn't affect me.

I'm Somewhat confused about all this <_<

Some people after they fully heal can eat a whole wheat sandwich and feel no ill effects. BUT that does not mean that no damage is being done. Many people are in fact asymptomatic. So, you might not get bloated or constipated, but the damage is still occurring. So, I know it's tempting but you have to stay gluten free!

Celiac does not go away, it is currently a "disease" with no known cure.

Seems to me that allowing an organ to heal then ripping it apart again cannot be good in the long run for you health. You may not have symptoms now but by the time you're injured enough to go back to the diet, the results could be much worse. Not just the little symptoms you had but something much more serious. You have to decide this for yourself but since we don't have a little window where we can look into the intestine we really don't know how much damage is being done.

This is really interesting to me. I've been going through the same thing lately and I searched the forum for "no symptoms" and this came up.

I have followed a gluten-free diet since November of 2007 and slipped up only a couple of times. On Easter, my boyfriend's mom made a dish that she's made for me before with corn starch and arrow root, but apparently this time she made it with flour and forgot to tell me. I ate it, nothing happened, and now everyone thinks I don't have celiac. I don't really know what to do because I'm afraid to dive back into a "normal" diet, but it's frustrating to have people doubting me as well.

Has anyone ever talked to a doctor about this? I'd love to hear any info on the subject.

Thanks!

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?

Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.

My daughter has celiac disease and has had for a long time. She fell loses strictly gluten-free diet and recently got rid of all cutting boards in any gluten in her house at all. She just had a stool test and it came back showing of gigantic response to gluten in her diet. What could be going on since she doesn't eat any gluten and is very careful about any kind of hidden glue? Help!
