Just finished cleaning up after the extended family left. I managed to get 10 adults and 2 babies through a gluten free dinner without complaints or surprise gluten. A blissful birthday indeed. Beer basted chicken, veggies, smashed potatoes. Safe chips & dip. Knickinick white cake whith a Betty Crocker adaptation that got rave reviews and home made ice cream cake. Trix for the babies to snack on.

I sent out an e-mail to everyone asking them to leave the cooking to me, and leave the babies crackers at home. I gave specific brands if they wanted to bring something. (we always bring a dish to pass). Chips, veggie tray, soda, regular beer (Ok with me).

What a great time it was to be able to eat out of the chip bowl and comment how fresh the veggies tasted. I even ate the same cake as everyone. (I indulged dispite my mild egg allergy). The cake was incredible and my husband says it was the best he has ever had.

Hubby also told the guys at dinner that he feels more energetic now that he is eating gluten free too. Incredibly, he has noticed feeling sleepy on the days he has had big bowls of cereal when I'm not around. He has autism and type 1 diabeties in his extended family, so maybe he has a gene or two to feel the effects of this poison.

OK. Knickinick white cake, sub OJ instead of water. Layer with lemon pie filling. Top with Whipped White frosting. It is on the Betty Crocker Frosting page. Mmmmm

      Constant low back, abdominal and pelvic pain!

      I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

      My daughter has celiac disease and has had for a long time. She fell loses strictly gluten-free diet and recently got rid of all cutting boards in any gluten in her house at all. She just had a stool test and it came back showing of gigantic response to gluten in her diet. What could be going on since she doesn't eat any gluten and is very careful about any...
