Strattera

When I was diagnosed, I was taking Strattera for ADD. The manufacturer could confirm it was wheat free, but not gluten free. (they were able to confirm gluten free on another med). In my newbie state, I kept taking the Strattera, but became suspicious once I realized how strict the diet really was. I took a "vacation" from the med with my doc's permission for a few months. I reintroduced it 2 weeks ago. Without belaboring the hows and whys, I'm still suspicious.

Has anyone else had any experience with Strattera? How sensitive are you to gluten reactions?

I would like to continue taking this medication if it is safe, but I'm off it again until I can hear what other's have experienced.

My dr just put me on Strattera for ADHD, and didn't seem concerned at all when I asked if it was gluten free (which completely annoyed me!). I checked the ingredients list and "pregelatinated starch" made me worried. I did find strattera on a big list from 2008 of gluten free drugs from some celiac support group, so I did start taking it. However, after being on it for a week, my stomach is starting to feel very gurgley and it makes me worried there is gluten in it!

Read the little print paper that should come with the drug. Is nasuea and constipation a common side effect?

Strattera is listed as gluten free on that site. I don't know who puts out the list or how reliable it is. If anyone knows that, I'd like to find out.

Thanks,

Leslie

Enlarged lymph nodes in neck and groin with celiac are not uncommon. They can take time to reduce even after going gluten-free. Monitoring is key.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
