Pre/post Celiacs?

I am 3 weeks new to being diagnosed with possibly Celiacs. Previously diagnosed with IBS, Stroke, EEG shows signs of Possible Seizures, severe depression, foggy thinking and the list goes on. I hear a few stories where some of you have had deeper testing for Celiacs and food allergies. Is there a certain procedure the doctor is supposed to follow to figure this out. I only had blood work done and test show IGA deficient, Vitamin D deficient, Homocysteine Nutritional deficient (Which the doctor did not know what that was and I still do not know) and she said they think I am Celiacs. Does this sound like my doctor covered all bases? She sent me home and said follow a gluten, milk and cheese free diet and come back in 3 months. Are there guidelines to follow to ask your Dr. the correct questions? Is there a list somewhere of questions to ask when I return in 3 months? I have my own list but do not know enough yet to understand all of the questions I should be asking? I've read many of your post on here and am thankful for all of your questions and answers. I'm one whom has gained weight quickly........I'm guessing due to Celiacs. I gained 60 pounds and had tried everything to no avail. Is this normal that the Dr.'s THINK I have Celiacs? I've been strictly staying on my new way of eating but have found that a few things at different times had the wrong things in them and quickly stopped eating them. I know I can do this..........I just hope I start to feel better soon. I realize everyone is different. I have almost totally secluded myself from society except to buy groceries due to feeling so bad and not wanting to be around people..........which is read is possibly a symptom. I also feel loopey, foggy thinking, I'm sure their are other lables for how I feel. Forgive me for spouting off...........I just wish I had more information from my physician. I'm not one to speak up. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Jackie

Hi Jackie,

There is a list of tests about 1/2 way down this page on the CSA website.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?

Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
