Great Experience At Troy Beaumont Lab

I just wanted to take a moment to give credit where it is due. Our family has had two wonderful lab experiences in a row with "Leo" at the Troy Beaumont Hospital lab in Troy, Michigan (Dequindre and M-59). He drew blood for both my husband and I a while back for our celiac panels and he was so gentle I didn't even feel it. My daughter (age 9) was due for her celiac re-test and nutritional evals. today so we went back to see Leo, and he was so good with her. He used a private room, put on Scooby-Doo, talked her through the poke and made her feel very safe and comfortable. Most importantly, he didn't hurt her with the needle. His bedside manner was top-notch.

If you ever read this, Leo...thank you!

Is it for yourself or a child? I can only offer a recommendation for a ped. GI. Look under this thread called "recommend a doctor in your state":

Maybe someone can refer you to an adult GI from there. If not, post a seperate thread and ask for one directly. Good luck! If you need help understanding your tests, please do post. There are many knowledgable folks on this forum.

PS--check out the Tri-county Celiac Support Group. I believe they now have a Macomb based meeting.

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?

Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.

My daughter has celiac disease and has had for a long time. She fell loses strictly gluten-free diet and recently got rid of all cutting boards in any gluten in her house at all. She just had a stool test and it came back showing of gigantic response to gluten in her diet. What could be going on since she doesn't eat any gluten and is very careful about any kind of hidden glue? Help!
