After being dx, do you just have a gluten-free lifestyle and base your healing on symptoms? Does your MD run any routine bloodwork?

It's a good idea to have panels rerun, if you had one done at diagnosis, in 6 months to a year. It is also a good idea to have them run levels for your vitamins and minerals to see if those are improving. You should also have a scan to check for osteopenia or osteoporosis even if you are young.

After dx, begin a gluten-free lifestyle. Depending on severity of damage, intolerance to other allergens and protein/fats may occur.

I would recommend you have dr. run blood panels a couple times a year until healed, and at least annually after that. I would recommend another biopsy to confirm healing at least 1 year after dx.

      Trying to read my lab results

      Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep...

      Constant low back, abdominal and pelvic pain!

      I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.
