More groundbreaking Celiac research news from Dr. Alessio Fasano and his colleagues.
Scientists Pinpoint Critical Molecule To Celiac Disease, Possibly Other Autoimmune Disorders
ScienceDaily (Sep. 7, 2009) — It was nine years ago that University of Maryland School of Medicine researchers discovered that a mysterious human protein called zonulin played a critical role in celiac disease and other autoimmune disorders, such as multiple sclerosis and diabetes. Now, scientists have solved the mystery of zonulin's identity, putting a face to the name, in a sense. Scientists led by Alessio Fasano, M.D., have identified zonulin as a molecule in the human body called haptoglobin 2 precursor.

This is very interesting, and very important! Thanks captaincrab55 for the link. Everyone should check it out, as there is a link at the bottom to a video interview with Dr. Fasano. He goes into much more detail than does the article itself. Amazing!

WOW! Just saw a short segment on WJZ TV 13 about Celiac. It briefly covered the content of the link above. It included a short interview with Dr. Alessio Fasano.. There was some very positive talk about the Drug testing currently going on for that miracle medication..
