Hi All,
I know a lot of you look at coping with so I am going to post here. This has nothing to do with celiac at this point. I need to get your thought on if you think I am lacking vitamins.
I quit smoking back in March and when I got to step 3 patch I started to get very very light headed. So I went to the urgent care, they told me to get a primary dr. Which takes like 2 months just to schedule a stupid appointment. So I started to smoke again and felt 100% better.
Now I am on step 3 again, I refuse to continue smoking because of this. So here I am again, all light headed, but it isnt all day long. Starts around 11:30 and continues for at least an hour.
Do any of you think vitamins will help me? I do not take any, but I am sure I am lacking something. I know we are not doctors on this site, but I cant see my Dr until 11/6 (agh makes me so mad and they dont even care!)
I did find one doctor and I will never go back again, I couldnt even believe what the man had said and how he presented himself, it was unreal.
I would appreciate any input you all have, sorry for the long post just wanted to give you all info on why I feel like this.

I hate to say this but I think this is just something you might have to put up with. I just did a quick google search of quitting smoking side effects and guess what was one of them:
Quit smoking symptom #6 Dizziness: When you quit smoking, your body starts fixing the red blood cells that have been handicapped with carbon monoxide. After a couple of days, the 15% of a smoker's blood that was dysfunctional becomes proper working blood again. The dizziness is a side effect of the extra oxygen your blood is delivering to your brain!
So just by that explanation it seems it is unrelated to any vitamin deficiency, but I will do some more research just to be sure.
And if you just want to be sure, you could take a multi anyway. It's definitely not going to do any harm. I take a food based one with relatively low percentages compared to the other ones. Most of them are just 100 %.

If this is a daily patch (don't know since I never smoked) can you switch the time you put it on? If you put it on in the morning change to night time. In the back of my mind I'm thinking they are a weekly thing.
So glad you are sticking to this! My dh quit smoking after 40 yrs of smoking. Saves a lot of money and the benefits to your health are priceless.

1960s-had symptoms-could have been before but don't remember
1970s-told had colitis or nervous stomach-was given phenobarbital, felt great but still had symptoms
Me, dd and ds diagnosed with Lactose Intolerance
2000-osteopenia
2001-had stroke because of medications I was given
June 2003-saw Chiropractor who specialized in nutrition: Celiac Disease not Lactose Intolerance, went gluten free with once in awhile cheating, off soy and dairy for about 6 months
June 2003-found excellent doctor for fibromyalgia (who has found out she has Celiac Disease)
May 2006-went gluten free with NO cheating-excellent! Made all the difference in the world

Gfresh404 is right about the blood differences. I had no idea I had any problems with my gums until I quit smoking. After all the nicotine left my system they started bleeding like crazy and I ended up having gum surgery
Guess they had not been getting enough oxygenated blood flow up to that time.

thanks for the responses, I appreciate it. I wanted to keep this outside the smoking post so people would see it.
I will try a daily vitamin, I used too but stopped.
It is a daily patch and I do change the time, I am actually weening myself off step 3. 6 more to go and I am done. I know the last time this happened I was light headed for a long time, so hope this stops once I am off the patch for a few days.
Thanks again!
I ended up having gum surgery lol Mushroom that is no good!
