We just discovered that one of our favorite pre gluten-free restaurants really goes the extra mile and does gluten-free!
Potatoes deep fried in their own frier. Calamari appetizer roasted with peppers and onions. The best steak salads that I've had in ages. My husband's rib-eye made the Outbacks looked like chopped burger. The waitress told us that they have celiacs come in all of the time and the owner has a close friend that needs to be gluten-free so they are extremely aware.

She said they could make almost everything gluten-free on the menu that you might want except for pasta dishes. And the menu is quite extensive. She kept going over the menu with us and had to come back to apologize because the Hawaiian BBQ sauce for my son's tuna wasn't gluten-free, but they could sub a honey. And the calamari was not even on the menu--it was a recipe from their old restaurant.

So glad that we have another choice. :D

This is an excellent example of why we should always ask about gluten free items when eating out!
1960s-had symptoms-could have been before but don't remember
1970s-told had colitis or nervous stomach-was given phenobarbital, felt great but still had symptoms
Me, dd and ds diagnosed with Lactose Intolerance
2000-osteopenia
2001-had stroke because of medications I was given
June 2003-saw Chiropractor who specialized in nutrition: Celiac Disease not Lactose Intolerance, went gluten free with once in awhile cheating, off soy and dairy for about 6 months
June 2003-found excellent doctor for fibromyalgia (who has found out she has Celiac Disease)
May 2006-went gluten free with NO cheating-excellent! Made all the difference in the world
