My dd wants some bathroom scales. I was wondering what is the best kind/brand to buy and what is the worst? I have never bought any before. She likes to weigh herself everyday. Thanks for your input!

I have one that measures body fat percentage. If mine dips below a certain percentage my scale refuses to weigh me! 
Me: GLUTEN-FREE 7/06, multiple food allergies, T2 DIABETES DX 8/08, LADA-Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults, Who knew food allergies could trigger an autoimmune attack on the pancreas?! 1/11 Re-DX T1 DM, pos. DQ2 Celiac gene test 9/11

neg. CELIAC PANEL 5/07
ALLERGY: "positive" blood and skin tests to wheat, which triggers his eczema '08
ENTEROLAB testing: elevated Fecal Anti-tissue Transglutaminase IgA Dec. '08
Gluten-free-Feb. '09
other food allergies

I have the Tanita body fat scale. It measures to the nearest 1/2 pound. I don't use the body fat part, it just depresses me!

Consider going to your library & checking the consumer reports index - they generally have good advice.
Last time I bought a scale was many years ago (10? 12?), and at the time some popular brands were accurate to within 10%, others within 1lb.
10% is almost 20 lbs for my husband's weight, so how is that helpful!?!
I chose one of the 1lb variance ones. The prices weren't even that different!

3 gluten-free cousins and counting (1 gold standard, 1 pos blood/no endo, 1 self/dietary diagnosed)
suspect mother was celiac (also, cousin suspects my mother's twin is celiac)
Feb 08 testing 'normal range' for gluten antibodies, IBD and food allergies
Staying off gluten - dietary reaction is compelling for me!

Mine says that I'm 151.4 lbs. It's a digital I bought at Walmart. Scales are like horoscopes, fun to read but not to be taken to seriously!
