I made up a short story today that is about Celiac disease. I would like to try to publish it. Any ideas on how to do this?

Mom of 4 beautiful girls (the 2 youngest are only 10 months apart!)
Diagnosed with Celiac disease on November 8, 2006; gluten-free as of 12-1-06.

DD#2 11 years old; diagnosed on November 28, 2006. gluten-free as of 12-7-06.
DD#3 6 years old; diagnosed through blood work in October 2006. Gluten-free as of mid-November and doing GREAT!!
DD#4 5 years old; had a scope done on 6-22-07 (at 14 months old) and the dr saw stomach ulcers, but all test results were negative. GI dr told us to put her on the gluten free diet anyway. She is gluten free as of 6-22-07.

That kind of depends: where do you want to publish it? Maybe one of the magazines for gluten-free/food allergies might be interested? You could contact them and ask about their submissions policies.

I would look for a "Writer's Market" there is a lot of useful info in these. I believe they come out yearly. Your local library may have one. You might be able to get a copy on an auction site or through a bookstore also. I used the Poet's Market for a bit and found it very useful. The books tell a lot about the submission requirements for different venues. Some will take cold submissions and some will not, some want you to contact first etc. Good luck and let us know when it gets published.
