I am about to order some tinkiyada pasta, but wasn't sure which one was the best. Brown or white rice? I was thinking of ordering from Gluten Smart, which seemed to have a good deal on the package price, I think it was $3.59 each. Is that about the going price?

My family prefers the brown rice Tinkyada pastas. They all would rather eat white rice, but the white rice pasta didn't have as much flavor, the texture didn't taste as wheat-like and it seemed stickier. One of the things we love about Tinkyada pastas is that they usually aren't sticky, even if you get sidetracked and they overcook.

$3.59 each seems reasonable, as long as the shipping rate doesn't zap you. They run around $3.89-$4.19 not on sale depending on the grocery store I buy them at here.

I second the brown rice. I actually can't find the white rice kind - the stores around me only have the brown. But it is so good - I can't go back to the other gluten-free pastas!

i used to be a tinkyada, brown rice only pasta user!!! UNTIL.... i tried trader joe's brown rice pasta... i've tried both the fusilli and the spaghetti and they are far and away the best pastas that i've had since gluten-free!!

not sure how they do it... the ingredients are only brown rice and water! hahaha

I vote for the brown rice pasta--we love Tinkyada Brown Rice Spaghetti.

Enjoy!! :D A couple tips--use a large pot and bring the salted water to a full, rolling boil before adding the pasta. Stir often while cooking, and begin checking for doneness several minutes before the label indicates. I don't rinse--I find the pasta stays hotter and whatever sauce I'm using sticks better.

Tinkyada is good but we think BiAglut is excellent. One can't tell the difference form a wheat pasta. The GLuten Free Trading Company carries it as well as many other places. It is imported from Italy. Also it is pricey but I order directly by te case......cheaper that way.

If you have a Whole Foods, here in Denver the Brown Rice Spaghetti runs about $3.30, normal price.

Brown Rice IS best.

I do the "no boil", cover on method and it never overcooks. Instructions on front of package.
