I am a college student and all of my friends and hall mates know that I am gluten free. Last night at dinner i was in the cafeteria and one of my friends said this joke:
Hey Lauren, you promise you won't get offended?...you should give up gluten for lent next year!
I found this really funny and am still laughing about it!!!

Wow! Thank you. When Lent comes around this year I will say very piously that I observe Lent every day of the year. Really! I think the Church should acknowledge everyone who follows the gluten-free diet and consider their year-round self denial to be a fulfillment of any Lenten discipline. And for any family member who opts to go gluten-free for a loved one, they get an automatic pass at the Pearly Gates!

I really am an ISTJ (Myers-Briggs Personality Type).
Responsible pet owners spay and neuter.
Please Google prosopagnosia, a neurological deficit also called facial amnesia or faceblind. Yup, I have it.
Poor me--gluten free.
I'll have a grilled cheese sandwich--hold the bread.

I know...the gluten-eaters in my house can choose to give up gluten...40 days may just swing them over to gluten-free!

3/26/09 gluten-free - celiac confirmed from tTG IgA 3/3/09, biopsy 3/26/09, double DQ2 / single DQ8 positive
10/27/09 diagnosed fibromyalgia - supplemented with amino acids - improved health for a few months -- then substantial deterioration (maybe one good hour per day for ~17 months)
8/10/11 - Started Elimination Diet for Autoimmune Disease
1/1/12 - Tomato, Pepper, Corn, Peanut, Soy, Bean, Pea, Citrus, Pineapple, Avocado, Seed, Shellfish and Gluten FREE
* Healthier than ever in my life. Didn't know how sick I really was until I removed all possible food intolerance *
