Do Reaction Types Change After gluten-free?

So hubby treated me to a nice dinner out tonight at a restaraunt I've had good luck with before on the rare occassion of eating out. The chef cooked my dinner. I did cheat on the allergy to milk and had the cream sauce and butter. I can get away with a little milk occassionally with only a reaction that will remain unmentioned. I used to get the neuro, yawning, fatigue, scalp tingles, body pain and confusion type of reaction with no digestive problems. I also admit, I ate more than usual it was so good. Well, my tummy is bloated, burbly and generally complaining more than is normal for me but I don't have any of the neuro symptoms that used to come 45 minutes after exposure.

Has anyone ever entirely switched type of reactions? Maybe it is just the dairy or the binging on a yummy dinner out.

Sauces could always be suspect in restaurants regarding gluten.

Did you ask if the cream sauce was gluten free? Some chefs will do a reduction where they only add cream and reduce it but others may use a roux, which is a butter and flour mix. You could just be reacting to the dairy that you are not used to.

I can only speak for myself but even 7 years in my glutenings still follow basically the same pattern. The only differences for me are that now when glutened my DH is one of the last symptoms to show up instead of one of the first and now if I get gotten good by gluten I will have an intestinal bleed. I never bled before diagnosis but now after the D hits (which still only lasts a day) I will bleed from a few hours to 3 days. The first time it happened I went back to the GI and he promptly did a double scope. He found my GI tract much improved and never gave me an explination for the bleeding but did tell me my diverticulosis was almost gone as well as most of my internal hemmies.

I've not heard of the DNA test I will definitely look into that. And I did not know that the neuropathy was symptoms of vitamin deficiency. I have been trying to get on a good vitamin regimen. Thank you!

My GI Doctor took blood work and said my Iron levels were actually high. But they took my blood a couple weeks after my infusion so I'm thinking that's why they were showing so high, but they knew I had the infusions. The infusions did help greatly but I am also on an Iron pill that I can instantly notice if I have not taken it for a few days.  Yes, I have read up on that! Thank you so much! I sure that will be fun! Hahaha

@shadycharacter, did you mean to reply to another post about sourdough bread? The present thread isn't about that.

Thanks for your response. It seems to be only with gluten, illness, or vaccination.

Welcome to the forum, @LimpToeTheTimeless Bone growth plates close in the late teens to early twenties, so it's doubtful you'll grow much taller, but you may start to bulk up in muscle.  Remember to boost your absorption of vitamins and minerals needed to build muscle by eating a nutritionally dense diet and supplementing with essential vitamins and minerals, especially Thiamine B1, to counteract the malabsorption caused by Celiac Disease. Keep us posted on your progress!
