Ideas?

Does anyone have any ideas on how to help raise awareness for celiac disease? Or food allergies??

I've been thinking about making a documentary. Going around interviewing people with celiac disease or food allergies. (I realize they are not the same, I just have both). I think that people have a view of people with allergies and celiac disease and it's wrong. They expect someone to be sickly looking and I want to change that.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks. :)

I think a documentary is a great idea.

There is a definite need to get more information out there. Although the situation has improved vastly in the last two or three years, a vast majority of people still have no idea what gluten is, or what difficulties those with food allergies or intolerances encounter in their day-to-day living. A documentary would be a great way of doing this if you had a vehicle for its distribution.

I would suggest you contact the agencies at Open Original Shared Link and the various celiac organizations and support groups to try to raise interest in such a project. I am sure all sufferers would be willing to cooperate to get the word out, because it would make their lives so much easier. The important aspect to me, would be an appropriate vehicle for dissemination of the information. If you could line this up you might be able to get some funding for the project also.

I wish you much luck in this project.

I'm sorry to hear about what you're going through. It must be really frustrating and uncomfortable. Have you talked to your healthcare provider about these sudden sweating episodes? It might be helpful to discuss this with them to rule out any other underlying issues or to see if there are specific strategies or treatments that can help manage this symptom. Additionally, staying hydrated and wearing breathable clothing may provide some relief.

I am not sure where you are going, but we have articles in this section which may be helpful: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/gluten-free-travel/

There are supplements available that can help breakdown minor amounts of gluten such as you might experience with cross contamination when dining out and you order gluten free items from a menu. But they will not help when larger amounts of gluten are consumed. One such product that many on this forum attest to as having helped them in this regard is GliadinX. The inventor of GlidinX is one our forum sponsors so you should know that.

There is such a thing, believe it or not, called gluten withdrawal. Gluten has addictive properties similar to opiates. I know it sounds bizarre but research it. Also, are you compensating for the loss of vitamins and minerals you were getting from the FDA mandated fortified wheat flour products you were formerly consuming?
