I am SO frustrated. I can't find anything out on their website, it's Sunday and I'm dying for a TCBY. I KNOW we discussed this on this board but I have searched every topic and I can't find it.

Please help-what can I have at TCBY and are there any cross cont. issues I should be concerned with?

Thanks, Jenn

Thanks, celiac3270! I don't know how you found that so fast-I didn't realize it was under the Coldstone Creamery topic!

In any case I had the TCBY and so far so good but i didn't know to ask them to clean off the machine..hopefully this will be fine. Do we ask b/c the cones can touch them?

I can't help you on that one, I've never been to TCBY...I just searched for it and regurgitated the information

Alot of their ice cream and frozen yogurt is gluten free. I have an email of flavors we can have that they sent me..if you want just email me and I will send it to you. We love to go to TCBY about 1 time a week :D

Well, I ate there and loved it! Did not get sick.

But I still would like to know why to ask them to clean the machine..hopefully whoever posted that will read this and answer!

I clearly must not be lactose intolerant b/c I felt fine after eating it and still do.

Can dairy bother you sometimes and not others?

I assume that they ask them to clean the shiver machine because it can be used to mix the yogurt with all of the other toppings that we cannot have. So, everytime I go, I ask them to get the toppings from the original container in the back and to clean the mixer so that there is no trace of the cookie dough, oreos, etc. on there.

I'm not sure what the shiver machine is. I don't get toppings, just yogurt out of the machine.

But, if you think about it, those machines might touch a cone from time to time.

I used to work at TCBY...and yes the shiver machine should be cleaned because they just swirl it in water after they make the shivers. The shiver machine just mixes the toppings into the yogurt. The shivers can contain gluten because of toppings such as oreos. If you get regular yogurt from the yogurt machine then you are fine.

Okay, cool. All I get is the regular yogurt. Should I be concerned, though, about it touching a cone?

The cone does not touch it...at least I never saw it while I worked there. It gets close but not to the point of touching. I wouldn't be concerned about that.

Mine is definitely triggered by inflammation and stress! I do also have arthritis in my spine, but the pain is more in my pelvic area. Im sure i have other food intolerances or other autoimmune isues but the more I focus on it and see doctor after doctor, it just gets worse.  Best thing is get of Gluten! (I also avoid lactose). Try to limit stress and anything that causes inflammation in your body.

Good morning,   I got an email about replies to this post. Some of my doctors had blamed a slipped disc for the pain I had and that contributes, but after meeting with a gastroenterologist AGAIN and trying some lifestyle modifications, I found out I have IBS and can't tolerate corn or excessive fructose to any degree. Cutting out corn AFTER having cut out all gluten containing products was a real pain but I feel much better now!

So, I contacted Scott Adams, the author of that article and also the creator/admin of this website, and pointed out to him the need to clarify the information in the paragraph in question. He has now updated the paragraph and it is clear that the DGP-IGA does serve the purpose of circumventing the false negatives that IGA deficiencies can generate in the tTG-IGA antibody test.

Has anyone experimenced enlarged lymph nodes with celiac? Both in the neck and groin area. Imaging of both areas have said that lymph nodes are reactive in nature. However, they have been present for months and just wondering how long this may take to go down. Been gluten-free for about two months. Blood counts are normal.
