Hi,

I found out that my child had the Kroger brand fruit snacks at sunday school today! Does anyone know if these contain gluten? I've never bought fruit snacks before so I'm clueless. Thanks for the info.

I was wondering about Kroger candies too - their Swedish fish in particular! Anyone know if those are okay?

Thanks :)

I don't think that they have gluten in them, but I haven't checked in a while. Hopefully someone else will have a better answer for you.

This doesn't help you now but call Kroger Monday and ask them. They're very good about this. All the fruit snacks I've ever seen checked have been gluten-free, but can't tell you about the Kroger ones.

Most fruit snacks are gluten-free, but their are some fruit roll-ups and some new fruit twist type snacks that contain gluten (in the form of wheat starch I believe). At my house we don't eat Brach's fruit snacks, because the company has stated that none of their products are considered gluten-free due to cross-contamination. I don't know about Kroger brand though.

God bless,

Mariann

Last I checked a few months ago, the fruit snacks were gluten-free. I cannot say anything but give them a call, though, since it has been several months since I called personally.

Thanks eveyone!

I almost freaked out when I found out about the snacks. We went to my in-laws church to visit. Next time I'm going to bring snacks with us!

I'm waiting on a call back from Kroger just to be on the safe side.

Thanks again.

Will you please ask about their gummy candies for me? (Swedish fish, gummy worms, that kind of thing)

could you let me know what you found out about their fruit snacks? I was looking at those and was going to place a call myself. :)

Hi, the dietitian called me back from Kroger today and they confirmed that the Kroger fruit snacks are gluten free. :) I had them check the Tom & Jerry Fruit Snacks but she said they all their fruit snacks are gluten-free.

P.S. I'm sorry Michelle, I didn't see your post until after I had already called Kroger. They were very helpful and nice about the situation. I called a couple of weeks ago about the Naturally Preferred Rice Drink and they were very helpful then also. The phone number is an 800 number and is listed on the back of all the Kroger products. I told them I didn't have the UPC code and they were still able to find the product. I've been trying to take my cell phone with me when I grocery shop so I can call before I purchase items. I was out today and I'll be out for a couple of days but I check this post when I get back. If you still need to find out about the products you listed, I would be glad to call for you. :)

Best Wishes,

Kasey's Mom

Thanks, Kasey's Mom, for posting what Kroger said! It's great to have another snack option, especially for traveling.

Sounds like you are in the UK. With blood numbers that high, I thought docs in UK would give an official diagnosis without the biopsy. You should ask about that, so you can get support faster.  I'd try to find and print out anything that supports that in your country, get another appointment and take all of it with you. Even in the US now, some docs are doing this, my 19 year old step granddaughter got an official diagnosis here in US with just blood results a few months ago.

Is soy sauce in Korea also made from wheat like it usually is in US? I'd be concerned that even if asking about gluten, they would not be aware of or think of some like that.

That's a good idea. It can at least establish the potential for developing celiac disease and can help people decided between a celiac diagnosis and NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity). And it doesn't require a gluten challenge and can be had without a doctor's prescription.

I have my endoscopy on Thursday, has anyone had the procedure done with a cough? I don't have a continuous cough, but every now and then throughout the day I have sort of coughing episodes. They are a lot better than they were but I called endoscopy and they said to speak to my gp and my gp got back to me and said I need to ask endoscopy if its ok if I have it done still.  Help!

Thank you so much, everyone. For the moment my doctor just has me taking iron but hopefully we can reconnect soon. I'm going to look into genetic testing, too. Great advice all around and I appreciate it--and you can bet I'm going off the PPIs!
