I'm not a doctor. The articles I have read recently say to breastfeed. It is supposed to delay Celiac and there is proof that the baby's stomach is healthier.

A new article released this past week encourages introducing gluten to the baby's diet in the "window" of time. My kids were both breastfed and "solid" food was started at the perfect window, they are now on a gluten free diet for life.

Other than that, it has to be you and your doctor's decision how you will proceed.

Laurie Congrats when are you due? I am due August 11th sounds like we might be close. My G.I. gave me a pamplet a couple of weeks ago that said they only things that could prolong the on set of Celiac is Breastfeeding for as long as possiable and delaying starting gluten in the diet and how much/often they eat gluten.

I think it is going to be hard because kids eat crackers and cherrios so does anyone know what to feed the gluten-free baby for a snack or while you are out?

A recent article on this suggested, in order to reduce the chances of an at risk child developing celiac disease, to introduce wheat between four and six months old. Definitely not before, and not after.

Of course, you'll want to stay on a strictly gluten-free diet.

Welcome to the forum, @SuzanneL! Which tTG was that? tTG-IGA? tTG-IGG? Were there other celiac antibody tests run from that blood draw? Was total IGA measured? By some chance were you already cutting back on gluten by the time the blood draw was taken or just not eating much? For the celiac antibody tests to be accurate a person needs to be eating about 10g of gluten daily which is about 4-6 pieces of bread.

I've recently received a weak positive tTG, 6. For about six years, I've been sick almost everyday. I was told it was just my IBS. I have constant nausea. Sometimes after I eat, I have sharp, upper pain in my abdomen. I sometimes feel or vomit (bile) after eating. The doctor wanted me to try a stronger anti acid before doing an endoscopy. I'm just curious if these symptoms are pointing towards Celiac Disease?

I'm sorry to hear about what you're going through. It must be really frustrating and uncomfortable. Have you talked to your healthcare provider about these sudden sweating episodes? It might be helpful to discuss this with them to rule out any other underlying issues or to see if there are specific strategies or treatments that can help manage this symptom. Additionally, staying hydrated and wearing breathable clothing may provide some relief.
