Glutened On Tuesday.....

Still feeling like a dried out turd on a bad stretch of road.

I'm sitting here on the verge of tears for no reason, I've been snapping at my husband (who does NOT deserve it), I feel like I've spent the last 3.5 days in the bathroom and I'm tired and itchy.

How long does this normally last for you all?

My reactions last a good 2 weeks with the 7th day being the absolute worst day.Reactions vary from person to person though.

Hang in there..it will get better

I hate to say I was severly glutend about a month ago and I'm not better yet, I still have the runs... I was fine before this.... sigh. I haven't really done much for it, I just now started Pepto (I get really sick with Imodium, it makes me feel drunk, dizzy vertigo, yuck) and its a bit better already. Once you've been gluten-free a while ingesting gluten can really do a number on you.

I was glutened last weekend and I'm still feeling ill. I stayed home from work on Monday and Tuesday and I basically have lived on bananas, rice, and yogurt since then.

I'm almost 100% sure that I have been glutened through contamination perhaps more than once during the past week. I've got all my gluten symtoms and I've even broke out in something that may be DH.... I think it's going to take awhile for these symtoms to pass. It's so annoying when this happens... but it really make me realize how careful I have to be... I guess I've kind-of slacked off with my anti-gluten"carefulness" and now I'm paying for it :(

6-7 days for me, with day 2-4 being the worst. I get awfully crabby as well. Hopefully, it'll pass soon for you.

Minde seems shorter, I don't know why that is, but it only lasts 3-5 days for me. I have a high metabolisim, however, so that might play a role in it.

Feel better soon!

I'm starting to feel better today. I'm still very tired and lethargic feeling, but except for the DH my other symptoms are clearing up. Thanks everyone for the replies!

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
    • mishyj
Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
