I was reading my results which the dr says looks good other than waiting for the biopsies to come back and here is what it says..... Could not get into the terminal ileum. Do any of you think this could have been an important part that was missed?

I am so concerned that although there was not damage yet I had a high positive igg that the dr won't consider me celiac as we all know it runs in the family so if my children or their children (eventually) and so on think I don't have it therefore don't pay attention to gluten-free or get tested, What will happen to them??? Cancer would be a horrible way to find it runs in the family.

The ilium is a small pocket at the end of the intestine. Sometimes with Celiacs, the food will go through the intestine in bigger pieces than it should and sit in the ilium causing a painful spot on the right side of centre of the tummy.

I'm really not sure why it was called a 'terminal ilium'. I would suggest you ask your doctor about that. I've never heard that term

Did you have the blood tests as well, or just the biopsies?

Thats the "funny" part. I tested iag 5 but the igg units were 42 which my general dr says is a high possitive. When they got done with the scope test I was kind of out of it so reading those results and asking questions was not to my advantage. She also did blood work prior to the scope test and I was so nervous about the scope test that I forgot to ask about those results so I am calling Tuesday.

My general dr says if there is one possitive then it is possitive but I don't think my GI dr thinks that way.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?

Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
