Dapsone And Pregnancy
0

5 posts in this topic

My husband and I would like to start trying but I'm concerned that I'll be MISERABLE when I'm pregnant if I can't take my dapsone. Right now, I'm only on 50mg a day and it works in conjunction with the gluten-free diet. I'm going to ask my ob/gyn about it but it seems that many docs don't understand about celiac disease...

Does anyone have any experience with this?

No experience but I'd be surprised if you could take dapsone while pregnant. How long have you been gluten-free? After a certain period of being strictly gluten-free (depends on the person), you should be able to taper off dapsone.

Sorry to ask but what is dapsone and why do you have to take it?

I have dermititis herpetiformis and I take dapsone to control that skin condition while I am on the gluten-free diet.
